Compensation and Benefits:

Employment Type: Full-time - 40 hours/week – evenings and weekends may be required.

The Shipper and Receiver will be required to perform tasks involving the receiving, handling, and shipping of materials in a manufacturing environment, and will be required to operate a variety of material handling equipment and hand tools. Responsibilities will include the receipt and inspection of incoming goods, the preparation and packaging of outgoing shipments, and the accurate documentation of inventory movements.

The Shipper and Receiver will be responsible for the efficient flow of materials in accordance with established procedures, while adhering to all safety regulations, workplace policies, and Ontario health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Load and unload receiving and delivery trucks.
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and bills of lading.
  • Report and document damaged, missing, or incorrect items.
  • Label, tag, and store materials in designated locations.
  • Update inventory records in ERP or inventory management systems.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare outgoing shipments according to shipping schedules and customer requirements.
  • Generate shipping documents including packing slips, bills of lading, invoices, pro forma invoices and custom forms.
  • Coordinate shipments with customers, carriers and couriers.
  • Ensure shipments are properly packaged to prevent damage.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and participate in cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Assist in identifying shortages, overages, and obsolete inventory.
  • Identify components and pick for production orders as required.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse areas.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
  • Follow workplace health and safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Use proper lifting techniques and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Communicate with production, purchasing, and Sales Administration teams regarding material needs and shipment status.
  • Assist with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2–3 years of experience in shipping and receiving, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift certification is a must.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with ERP or warehouse management systems.
  • Knowledge of shipping procedures, documentation, and inventory control practices.
  • Ability to operate equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Critical eye for detail and ability to identify defects.
  • Capable of walking, standing for extended periods, and performing strenuous physical tasks, including HS codes and Tariff regulations.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Effective verbal and listening communication abilities.
