Location: Mississauga, ON
Compensation: $105,000 – $125,000 base + bonus (based on experience and education)
Shift: First shift
Must-Have Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in food, packaged goods, or a closely related manufacturing environment
Union maintenance leadership experience is required
Strong hands-on knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
Proven ability to lead, coach, and hold teams accountable in a structured environment
Experience supporting high-speed processing or packaging equipment
Comfortable operating in fast-paced, production-driven facilities
Strong communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally
Position Overview
A well-established North American manufacturer of packaged and convenience food products is expanding operations in the Greater Toronto Area and is adding a Maintenance Supervisor at its Mississauga facility.
This is a newly created, first-shift leadership role supporting high-speed processing and packaging lines. The company continues to invest in equipment upgrades, preventive maintenance, and long-term workforce stability. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who wants to stay close to the floor, lead a unionized team, and improve reliability without sacrificing work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead a unionized maintenance team through daily engagement, clear expectations, and consistent follow-through
Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve asset reliability
Plan labor coverage, manage schedules, and support workforce planning for the maintenance group
Coach, mentor, and develop technicians while reinforcing safety, quality, and compliance standards
Partner with production and engineering on equipment upgrades and capital improvement initiatives
Step in on complex mechanical and electrical troubleshooting when needed
Drive continuous improvement through stronger planning, documentation, and standard work practices
