Job Title:
Electrician
Job Description

The Electrician is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation and upkeep of production equipment in a valve manufacturing environment. This includes CNC machines, screw machines, transfer machines, and associated automation systems. This role involves performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting both mechanical and electrical/PLC issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maximize equipment uptime and efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on CNC machines, transfer machines, screw machines, and other auxiliary equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve PLC-related issues, including input/output faults, sensor problems, and communication errors.
  • Support the installation, setup, and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades.
  • Work with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineers and operators to identify root causes of recurring issues.
  • Adhere to all health and safety standards and participate in safety programs.
  • Assist in developing and improving maintenance procedures and PM schedules.
  • Participate in on-call rotation or after-hours support when required; shift work or overtime may be needed depending on production schedules.
  • Ensure production equipment and machinery are functioning at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with the maintenance team and other departments.
  • Communicate the requirements for spare parts and the ordering of stock items to ensure safety stock is on hand.
  • Ensure all guarding is in place and functional.
  • Ensure equipment is locked out and tagged when appropriate.
  • Take initiative and provide suggestions on improving machine performance.
  • Provide long-term solutions to machine problems, focusing on preventing issues from recurring.
Essential Skills
  • 442A license
  • 3+ years in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with electrical schematics and PLC logic
  • Ability to troubleshoot automated equipment, stamping presses, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC, and basic electrical devices
  • Ability to work up to 575v and 30A electrically
  • Ability to lift 50lbs+
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Machining experience
  • Experience with Fanuc, Siemens, and Allen Bradley PLC
  • Ability to use mill, lathe, drill presses, grinders, and hand tools to fabricate replacement parts
  • Fork truck certification
  • Working from heights
  • Lift equipment experience

Environment

This role is in a manufacturing environment with a team of two millwrights on both the day and afternoon shifts. Candidates must bring their own tools and are required to wear safety shoes. Masks are also required while on site.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $43.00/hr.
