General Manager - Operations

About Role:

Loonie Times is seeking a dynamic and strategic General Manager Operations to oversee end-to-end manufacturing and operational activities for our custom mascot design and production business. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, production efficiency, quality control, workforce management, and continuous improvement initiatives. Experience in the garment, apparel, textile, costume, or related manufacturing industries is highly preferred due to the transferable skills in production planning, fabrication, sewing operations, quality management, and process optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management

  • Oversee all production and operational activities.
  • Ensure efficient workflow, productivity, and timely delivery of products.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance.
  • Resource planning and allocation to run smooth operation to meet sales target.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop production and operations teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Support workforce planning and performance management.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure products meet company quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and workplace regulations.
  • Implement corrective actions to address operational issues.

Production Planning & Inventory

  • Oversee production scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate material requirements.
  • Develop best practices to improve operations efficiency.

Strategic & Financial Management

  • Manage operational budgets and control costs.
  • Track key performance metrics and prepare management reports.
  • Identify opportunities for operational growth and process optimization.

Qualifications & Experience

· Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Textile Engineering, or a related field.

· 10–12 years of progressive experience in operations and production management within the garment/apparel manufacturing industry.

· Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role managing large production teams.

· Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, quality control, and supply chain operations.

· Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence initiatives is preferred.

· Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
