Position: Industrial CNC Service Technician |  | Day Shift

Industrial CNC Service Technician (Electrical / Mechanical) About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established provider of industrial machinery solutions and technical services supporting manufacturers across North America. They are seeking an experienced Industrial CNC Service Technician to join their growing field service team. This position is ideal for a highly skilled technician with strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities who enjoys working directly with advanced CNC machine tools in manufacturing environments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of CNC equipment at customer facilities. Qualified candidates from Canada and internationally are encouraged to apply through approved immigration and relocation programs.

Key Responsibilities CNC Installation & Commissioning
  • Install CNC machine tools and related equipment at customer sites.
  • Perform machine setup, alignment, leveling, calibration, and commissioning.
  • Verify machine accuracy and performance according to technical specifications.
  • Conduct acceptance testing and provide operator training as required.
  • Troubleshooting & Repair
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and CNC control system issues.
  • Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform preventative maintenance activities.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Troubleshoot servo systems, spindle drives, motors, encoders, sensors, PLC systems, and CNC controls.
  • Preventative Maintenance & Calibration
  • Perform machine geometry inspections and accuracy verification.
  • Execute scheduled preventative maintenance programs.
  • Complete detailed service reports and maintenance documentation.
  • Recommend equipment improvements and corrective solutions to customers.
  • Customer Support
  • Deliver professional on-site technical support to manufacturing clients.
  • Clearly communicate technical issues and solutions to operators, supervisors, and maintenance teams.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through exceptional service and professionalism.
  • Preferred Technical Experience

    Experience with one or more of the following CNC control systems is highly preferred:

  • FANUC
  • Mitsubishi Electric
  • HEIDENHAIN
  • Additional experience with PLC programming, servo tuning, CNC diagnostics, and machine parameter backup and recovery is considered a strong asset.

    Qualifications Technical Requirements
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in one or more of the following:
    • CNC machine repair
    • Machine tool service
    • Industrial maintenance
    • Automation equipment service
    • Manufacturing equipment installation
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills supported by mechanical knowledge, or strong mechanical expertise combined with advanced electrical troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Experience working with machining centers, turning centers, grinding machines, or similar CNC equipment.
  • Proficiency using precision measuring instruments and diagnostic tools.
  • Asset
  • Read and interpret technical manuals and service documentation.
  • Follow industrial operating procedures and safety requirements.
  • Complete service reports accurately and communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Travel Requirements
    • Valid driver's license.
    • Valid passport.
    • Willingness to travel throughout Southwestern Ontario and occasionally to Quebec and Michigan.
    • Ability to work safely within industrial and manufacturing environments while adhering to all safety regulations.
