Aircraft Preflight Mechanic (AME M2)
Responsibilities
- Perform all preflight operations on aircraft between final assembly and customer acceptance, including functional checks and engine runs.
- Carry out and certify work associated with building an aircraft from early development stages through final assembly and pre-delivery activities.
- Conduct detailed inspections of aircraft systems and structures per internal procedures and regulatory standards.
- Complete all required inspection reports, log entries, and related documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Apply troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and resolve mechanical and system issues identified during preflight and engine run operations.
- Interpret and follow blueprints, technical drawings, and maintenance manuals to perform work to specification.
- Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, maintaining a high standard of professionalism on the shop floor.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with other team members in production and preflight processes.
- Use rigging skills to adjust and verify the proper operation of flight controls and related systems.
- Support continuous improvement of preflight processes by identifying issues and suggesting practical solutions.
Essential Skills
- Valid M2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME‑M2) license.
- Proven troubleshooting experience on aircraft systems and components.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
Work Environment
- Large, clean, and bright shop floor production environment focused on OEM aircraft manufacturing and preflight operations.
- Permanent off‑shift schedule Monday to Friday, with afternoon shifts from 3:00pm to 11:30pm and night shifts from 10:00pm to 6:00am.
- Access to the necessary tools and equipment for preflight checks, rigging, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.

Permanent position based out of Mississauga, ON.
Pay and Benefits
Pay range: $ – $ per year. Overtime pay after 8 hours per day. Premium pay for afternoon, night, and weekend shifts, including time‑and‑half on Saturdays and double time on Sundays. A travel premium may be available for eligible employees at the Waterloo location based on distance.
