In conjunction with the rest of the Management Team, the Production Manager's role is critical to oversee the management of all areas to produce products and direct activities so that all products are produced in a cost effective and timely manner and in alignment with customer expectations and quality requirements.
Accountabilities / Direct
- Directs and coordinates production needs based on the daily production plan.
- Responsible for setting and tracking production goals
- Responsible for monitoring expenses and controlling overall spending budgets within the operation.
- Responsible for establishing all shift production schedules
- Responsible for succession planning and employee development within the operations area
- Responsible for the product quality control of products produced
- Oversees the inventory control process as well as accuracy of reported inventory
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe operation
- Develops and executes Company's manufacturing and quality activities
- Establishes measurable objectives and procedures governing the performance of assigned activities
- Focuses on continuous improvement, and staying current with leading edge processes and techniques.
- Establishes and directs production policies and procedures.
- Ensuring each member of his/her team is in compliance with Company's policies and procedures.
- Fosters a well-trained and motivated staff
- Works in conjunction with the maintenance team and sanitation to maintain good overall conditions and upkeep.
- Other duties may be assigned from time to time
Required Skills / Experience & Abilities
- BS., Business Administration;
Engineering or technical related field from an accredited University; or equivalent work experience. - High level of interpersonal skills, the ability to work collaboratively, build teams and work within/lead cross functional teams.
- 5 years minimum experience in a similar role. Meat industry experience is preferred but not required.
- Must be assertive and have strong organization skills.
- Must be a self-starter and take initiative.
- Strong communication (both verbal and written).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to prioritize tasks
Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
