Staff Plus is hiring an experienced Electrical Assembly Lead Hand for a full-time manufacturing opportunity. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for assembling elevator control operating panels (COPs) while coordinating the daily workflow, productivity, quality, and performance of the assembly team.
The successful candidate will have strong electrical or custom assembly experience, be confident reading schematics and technical drawings, and have experience guiding employees in a manufacturing environment.
Job Type: Full time, permanent
Location: Mississauga, Ontario
Pay Rate: $64,000.00/year
Hours: Day Shift, Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm
What You'll Do:
- Lead the daily workflow of the assembly team to meet production, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery targets.
- Perform hands-on assembly of elevator control operating panels (COPs), fixture panels, and related components.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, assembly drawings, and work instructions.
- Use hand and power tools to complete detailed and complex assemblies accurately.
- Troubleshoot assembly and production issues and provide technical support to team members.
- Inspect completed assemblies, identify quality concerns, and ensure finished products meet specifications.
- Prioritize work orders and coordinate team workload based on production requirements.
- Monitor team productivity, quality, attendance, and completion of assigned work.
- Train and support new employees on assembly processes, quality standards, and safe work practices.
- Communicate production issues, delays, staffing concerns, and operational updates to management.
- Ensure required production, inspection, and shift handover documentation is completed accurately.
- Maintain an organized work area and reinforce Health & Safety and 5S requirements.
- 3+ years of hands-on assembly experience.
- 1+ year of manufacturing experience, preferably in custom, electrical, panel, fixture, or similar production.
- Previous Lead Hand, Team Lead, or comparable leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to confidently read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and assembly drawings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to complete detailed and complex assemblies accurately.
- Ability to identify quality issues and non-conforming components or assemblies.
- College diploma or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and available to work the full-time schedule required for this position.
