The Opportunity

Nett Technologies Inc. designs and manufactures engine emission-control and sound-attenuation systems for diesel, LPG, gasoline, and natural-gas engines. Our products are engineered for demanding industrial applications and built through a combination of sheet-metal fabrication, fitting, forming, welding, assembly, and inspection.

We are looking for a practical, hands-on Production Supervisor who combines sound common sense with strong metal-fabrication and mechanical aptitude. This is not a desk-only role. The successful candidate will maintain a visible presence on the shop floor, understand how parts should be made and assembled, recognize problems early, and guide employees toward safe, efficient, high-quality work.

The right person will be able to look at a drawing, a fabricated part, or a problem on the floor and make a sensible decision based on experience - while knowing when to involve Engineering, Quality, or Management.

What You Will Do
  • Lead from the shop floor. Maintain an active, visible presence in production; assign work, monitor progress, remove obstacles, and respond quickly to downtime or quality concerns.
  • Plan and control production. Translate priorities, work orders, available labour, materials, and equipment capacity into a practical daily and weekly production plan.
  • Apply fabrication knowledge. Support work involving laser-cut and formed sheet metal, rolling, fitting, jigs and fixtures, MIG/TIG welding, grinding, assembly, and related manufacturing processes.
  • Read and interpret technical information. Use drawings, specifications, bills of materials, routings, and work instructions to verify that work is being completed correctly; support prototype and custom-build work.
  • Solve problems practically. Identify the real cause of production issues, implement immediate containment, coordinate corrective action, and communicate clearly with Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and Management.
  • Lead and develop employees. Set clear expectations, train and coach employees, provide timely feedback, conduct performance reviews, and address attendance, conduct, and performance concerns fairly and consistently.
  • Protect quality and delivery. Monitor workmanship, first-off and in-process checks, productivity, schedule attainment, rework, and late orders; take action before problems affect the customer.
  • Maintain a safe and disciplined workplace. Enforce PPE, machine-safety, housekeeping, work-hour, break-time, and company-policy requirements; respond promptly to incidents and support investigations.
  • Improve the operation. Use practical continuous-improvement methods such as 5S, 5 Whys, visual controls, standard work, and basic KPIs to improve flow, accountability, and efficiency.
  • Report accurately. Provide clear updates on production status, staffing, overtime, attendance, constraints, safety, quality, and actions requiring follow-up.
What We Are Looking For
  • Strong common sense, mechanical aptitude, and the confidence to make timely, practical decisions.
  • At least 5 years of experience in metal fabrication, sheet-metal manufacturing, welding, mechanical assembly, or a closely related industrial environment.
  • At least 3 years of successful supervisory or lead-hand experience with production employees.
  • Hands-on knowledge of fitting, fabrication, welding, forming, assembly, measuring tools, jigs, fixtures, and safe equipment use.
  • Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings, dimensions, tolerances, weld symbols, and basic bills of materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize competing priorities, follow work through to completion, and hold employees accountable.
  • Calm, direct, and respectful communication style; comfortable working with a multicultural team and across departments.
  • A strong record of supporting safety, quality, housekeeping, and reliable attendance.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience with ERP/MRP or production-tracking systems.
Education and Additional Assets
  • College diploma, trade certification, apprenticeship, or equivalent practical experience in manufacturing, welding, fabrication, mechanical technology, or a related field.
  • CWB welding knowledge, welding-supervision experience, or formal health-and-safety training.
  • Experience in a custom, engineered-to-order, low- to medium-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with laser cutting, press…
