Colt Automation is a leader Coil Processing industry. In its 50 years of operation, the company has achieved significant growth. We are currently seeking experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team You will bring your great work ethic, and positive attitude.

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Welder / Fitter to join our fast-paced manufacturing and fabrication team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fitting, fabricating, and welding a variety of custom metal structures and finished products while maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and workmanship.

The ideal candidate has strong blueprint-reading and fitting skills, hands-on experience with MIG and TIG welding, and the ability to work independently while contributing effectively as a team member.

Salary: $27+ based on experience

Location: Mississauga, ON

Job Type: Full-Time

Work Environment
:
Fast-paced manufacturing/fabrication shop with exposure to noise, dust, welding fumes, and machinery.

Overtime: May be required based on production needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, welding symbols, and specifications.
  • Fit, lay out, align, tack, and weld components using fixtures and measuring tools.
  • Perform MIG and TIG (GTAW) welding on mild steel and other alloys in various positions.
  • Maintain tight tolerances and understand heat distribution and distortion control.
  • Inspect finished work for quality, dimensions, and compliance with specifications.
  • Safely operate welding, fabrication, material-handling equipment, and tooling.
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Work with supervisors and team members to improve quality and production efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all Health & Safety requirements and PPE procedures.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of welding/fabrication and fitting experience.
  • CWB Certification and/or Welder Trade Certification preferred/required.
  • Strong MIG and TIG welding experience.
  • Proven ability to read blueprints, structural drawings, welding symbols, and specifications.
  • Strong fitting, measurement, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with fixtures, machinery, and material-handling equipment.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs .
