Detailing/CAD Department Operations Manager

Kubik is looking for a sharp, organized Detailing Department Operations Manager to lead the team behind the drawings, details, and technical packages that bring extraordinary environments to life.
You’ll keep complex work moving—aligning people, priorities, schedules, and technical requirements so every project is clear, buildable, and ready for production.
What You’ll Do Keep the Work Moving- Own the detailing schedule and keep priorities, staffing, and milestones aligned.
- Join project launch and handoff meetings to understand scope, timelines, and technical requirements.
- Balance workloads, forecast capacity, and flag risks before they become roadblocks.
- Coordinate with Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, and Production to keep deliverables on track.
- Create planning habits that bring clarity, accountability, and consistency to the team.
- Review and approve hours, invoices, and time-off requests.
- Guide, coach, and support detailers across workload planning, performance, and development.
- Build strong standards, workflows, best practices, and quality checks across Kubik locations.
- Create an environment where talented technical people can do their best work.
- Support smart decisions around materials, fabrication methods, vendors, manufacturing efficiencies, and installation needs.
- Keep Kubik’s detail libraries, fabrication components, materials, and drawing templates sharp and current.
- 7+ years in exhibit detailing, technical drafting, architectural millwork, experiential fabrication, museum exhibits, retail fixtures, or a related field.
- 3+ years leading drafting, detailing, engineering, or technical design teams.
- Strong ability to read, assess, and improve drawing packages.
- Solid understanding of fabrication, construction, millwork, metalwork, and graphics integration.
- Ability to turn creative concepts into practical production solutions.
- Excellent planning, coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with in trade shows, events, retail activations, museums, themed entertainment, or branded environments.
