Estimator – Precision Machining

Salary: $70,000–$85,000, depending on experience

Schedule:

Monday to Thursday, 6:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.;
Friday, 6:00 a.m.–10:00 a.m.

Location:

Mississauga

We’re hiring an Estimator with a strong background in precision machining. In this role, you’ll review customer drawings, determine how components should be manufactured, and develop accurate production estimates and quotations. You’ll also use Mastercam, program and set up CNC mills, and design and manufacture fixtures as needed.

• Review drawings, specifications, dimensions, tolerances and GD&T requirements.
• Plan machining processes, setups, tooling and fixturing for precision components.
• Develop production estimates and prepare quotations using Mastercam and an ERP system.
• Program and set up CNC milling machines.
• Design and manufacture fixtures that support accurate, efficient production.
• Work with production staff to resolve technical and manufacturing questions.

• At least 5 years of experience in a precision machine shop.
• Hands-on knowledge of CNC mills, CNC lathes and Swiss-style turning.
• Mastercam programming experience with both mills and lathes.
• Ability to independently interpret complex technical drawings and GD&T.
• Experience determining machining methods, performing machining calculations, and designing and manufacturing fixtures.
• Experience with precision components made from metals and engineered plastics.
• A high school diploma or equivalent; machinist certification is an asset.
