This is a full-time, 37.5-hour-per-week position with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

This role:The PR& Social Media Co-op will play an important role in the day-to-day execution of our PR strategy & social media execution for both Shark and Ninja brands and products. We need someone who can step in, take responsibility, and very quickly understand the brand(s) you work on and begin contributing. This person must have a willingness to learn, have strong attention to detail, exhibit curiosity, basic experience in business writing and have a cursory knowledge of the media and social influencer ecosystem.

This individual will possess ‘out of the box’ thinking and push the boundaries as we continue to achieve more than we’ve ever imagined.

Here are some of the exciting things you’ll get to do: 

  • Assist the PR manager, and work with cross-functional peers in the creation of consumer, brand, and product-driven earned coverage PR strategies for the US
  • Assist in the creation and execution of PR product and brand activations to elevate awareness, brand love and achieve breakthrough performance and goals
  • Partner cross-functionally with brand marketing, digital, and sales to align on product information such a key messaging, launch dates and inventory
  • Oversee all Canadian social media platforms, including but not limited to Instagram and Tik Tok
  • Actively monitor and respond to community feedback, inquiries, and discussions in a timely and professional manner, representing our brand voice and values
  • Be in the know of the “who’s who” in the Canadian influencer landscape and make recommendations based on upcoming product launches and seasonal moments
  • Stay informed about industry trends and social media best practices to enhance the company's online presence
  • Support paid, organic and PR seeding efforts by ordering product samples and ensuring timely delivery
  • Provide regular reports on key metrics and insights, suggesting improvements for optimization
  • Key Attributes &

    Skills:

  • Education:Current student in their third year or beyond of a bachelor's program, or has graduated within the past year
  • Must be able to come into the office 3 days per week
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences and adapt to various communication styles
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to empathize with community members, address concerns, and resolve conflicts diplomatically
  • Proficiency in social media management and analytics tools
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and results-driven
