Position: Communications Associate, Student Contract (4 months)

Position Summary
You will join our Communications team for a paid summer student placement in Canada. You will support internal and external communications projects that connect teams and inform decisions. You will work alongside communicators, business partners and external agencies. We value curiosity, clear writing, and a collaborative approach. This role will help you grow your skills, make a real impact, and support GSK’s mission of uniting science, technology and talent to get ahead of disease together.
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following
:
Create content for internal and external channels, including key messages, PowerPoint presentations, social media posts, and basic graphics (posters, display screens, infographics).Support the development of internal communication plans and campaign assets.Prepare and upload content for GSK in Canada’s external website (), ensuring accuracy and timely updates.Help prepare briefing materials, presentations and stakeholder updates.Assist with event planning and coordination for internal or external meetings.Monitor news and social channels for relevant trends and insights.Collect and analyze simple engagement data to measure impact and suggest improvements.Collaborate with team members to develop Communications team meeting agendas and support daily operations by performing general support and administrative tasksProvide weekly support (1 day/week) and occasional backup for the Linguistics function by managing translation requests from internal business partners.Why You?
Basic Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.Comfortable using Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.Ability to work on-site or in a hybrid model, as the role is hybrid with a requirement to be in our Canadian office on scheduled days.Legally eligible to work in Canada for the duration of the summer placement.Excellent organizational skills, goal-oriented, and proactive.Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skillsPreferred Qualification
Previous internship or volunteer experience in communications, public affairs, or marketing.Basic experience with social media management and content scheduling tools.Interest in corporate communications, pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- Comfort working with simple analytics and reporting tools.Working knowledge of French or another language spoken in Canada.What we offer

In compliance with Ontario's provincial pay transparency legislation in Canada, this job posting includes a salary range to support equitable and informed hiring practices. The annual pay rate for new hires in this position ranges from CAD $31,980 to CAD $79,950 taking into account a number of factors including work location within the Canadian market, education level (e.g., Undergrad / Masters / MBA etc.)
