Communications Advisor

Position: City Communications Advisor
Enhance communications strategies with the City of Mississauga as a Communications Advisor. This hybrid role focuses on supporting official City events and developing impactful communications strategies.

Reporting to the Supervisor of Employee Communications and Events, you will provide vital communications support to various City departments. With an emphasis on relationship building, you will identify opportunities, develop storytelling techniques, and manage communications for City initiatives.

Your role is key in showcasing the City's programs, services, and achievements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and evaluate official City events and promotions

• Create diverse communications materials across multiple channels

• Develop internal and external communication plans

• Manage media relations and issues proactively

• Respond to public inquiries regarding City initiatives

Requirements:

• Degree in communications or related field

• 3+ years in communications or public relations

• Proficient in MS Office, CMS, and social media tools

• Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings
