Key Responsibilities   Manage the day‑to‑day operations of the Wellness department, including medication distribution and administration, care package services, and regular Member assessments.
Act as a role model, driving excellence and innovation in customer service throughout the community.
Lead a team of approximately 15, providing empowerment, goal setting, and performance management, while managing financial and physical resources.

Contribute to the budgeting process and maintain operations within the established budget.
Recruit, develop, and train team members, fostering knowledge and skill growth.
Attend and lead management meetings, problem‑solve, cover shifts, and handle on‑duty responsibilities.
Liaise with community members, families, and external agencies to address care needs and departmental activities.
Collaborate with external partners such as public health, LHIN, hospitals, and service providers.
Interpret nursing philosophy and establish policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Lead the Infection Control and Risk Management Committee, implementing IPAC protocols throughout the community.
Maintain required records, reports, and statistics for both community members and team members.
Ensure appropriate level of care is determined prior to admission and all necessary documentation is completed.
Plan, organize, direct, and supervise Wellness/Nursing activities to provide individualized care and services.
Participate in community members’ councils, resolving issues related to Nursing/Wellness services.
Ensure RN, RPN, and PSW accreditation for medication administration is up to date.
Deliver meaningful education and resources to team members, community members, families, and prospects.
Qualifications   Minimum of 5 years hands‑on experience as an RN or RPN in an independent, assisted living, and/or long‑term care home.
Minimum of 5 years management experience in a similar environment (may be concurrent with industry experience).
Graduate of a post‑secondary nursing program with good standing at the Ontario College of Nurses as a registered or registered practical nurse.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting with community members, families, and external agencies.
Strong organizational and administrative skills.
Proficiency in computer use, including Excel, Word, and job‑related software.
Knowledge of the Retirement Homes Act, 2010.
Experience managing and leading infection prevention and control protocols.
Ability to educate, coach, and guide team members to provide quality care.
Flexible hours, including some weekends, as required.
Successful criminal reference check, including the vulnerable sector.
Effective communication in written and verbal English.
