Position: Registered Practical Nurse-Permanent Full-Time-Extendicare
Job Description:

The RPN/LPN will enhance the effective management and quality of nursing practice daily, meeting the standards set by governing bodies and internal policies.
Salary: RPN Visit Rate. Nursing

Schedule:

As per collective agreement. Access to reliable vehicle in community home care is required.
Designated shift may vary; must be flexible based on the needs of the home. Time type: full time.
General Responsibilities   Ensure care is provided with established nursing standards and principles, physicians’ orders and administrative policies, observe, report and record vital signs, symptoms and conditions of residents / patients; assure observance of required techniques in nursing care.
Assist in assessing patients/residents and develop, implement, review, and evaluate care plans. Monitor health, note changes in condition and assess need for referral to doctors; process and implement physicians’ orders.
Qualifications   Appropriate current certificate of competence from approved institutions for the province.
Registration or eligible for registration with the approved institutions for the province.
Previous managerial experience in long‑term care or community homecare preferred.
Experience dealing with the cognitively impaired.
Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices, including infection control practices.
Demonstrated commitment to working with seniors.
Ability to present information clearly and effectively verbally and in writing; active listener who projects a friendly demeanour.
Ability to collect and use information to thoroughly think through problems and situations; sees the big picture and generates creative solutions.
Organizational, planning, time‑management and multi‑tasking skills.
