Infection Control Program Support Nurse

Become a vital member of our team as an Infection Control Program Support Nurse at Sheridan Villa Long Term Care in Mississauga. This onsite role focuses on staff training and infection prevention management.

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for a contract position with Health Services, Long Term Care. You will provide educational leadership, assess team training needs, and develop effective programs to ensure resident-centered care. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and oversee compliance with various standards while managing the infection control program.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead educational training for nursing staff on resident care

• Assess and coordinate training resources for team needs

• Monitor compliance with care standards and legislation

• Update the infection prevention and control programs annually

• Chair the Outbreak Management Team during outbreaks

Requirements:

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario

• Baccalaureate Degree and long-term care education experience

• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is mandatory

• Strong communication and leadership skills

• Flexibility in work hours for training and outbreaks
