Registered Practical Nurse Long Term Care

Deliver geriatric nursing care with Age Care as a Registered Practical Nurse, guiding Personal Support Workers and monitoring resident status.

This Registered Practical Nurse provides professional care within a residence and supports required nursing practice. You will collaborate with Registered Nurses, physicians, external partners, and health care teams. The role requires knowledge of long-term care nursing, applicable legislation, and College of Nurses of Ontario standards.

• Implement Age Care policies and procedures with Registered Nurses
• Liaise with physicians and external health care partners
• Notify physicians about significant resident status changes
• Direct Personal Support Workers on the care team
• Participate in shift reports and share resident updates

• Knowledge of geriatric, rehabilitation, or long-term care nursing
• Background in activation, nursing, and personnel administration
• Knowledge of applicable federal, provincial, and municipal statutes
• Current College of Nurses of Ontario Certificate of Competence
• Membership in good standing with the College of Nurses
