What You Will Be Working On
Develop, implement, and manage the company’s quality control program across the project.
Lead by example, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement in quality standards.
Support project teams in the implementation of tools and technology for QA/QC (e.g.: inspections, deficiency management, etc.)
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to project specifications, codes, and industry standards.
Prepare and facilitate lessons learned, documenting key takeaways and sharing insights across teams to promote continuous improvement.
Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to site teams, ensuring quality control best practices are embedded at all levels.
Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and trades to address quality concerns and deficiencies and implement corrective actions.
Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to identify potential quality risks and recommend proactive solutions.
Lead and coordinate quality audits and inspections by internal teams, clients, and third-party agencies.
Provide training and guidance to site teams on quality control practices and procedures.
Prepare and maintain detailed quality control reports and documentation,
Continuously review and enhance quality control processes to improve project outcomes, demonstrating an innovative mindset and proactive problem-solving.
What We Are Looking For
A degree or diploma in construction management, engineering, or a related field is an asset but not mandatory.
10+ years of proven experience in the construction industry
Experience working within the civil and transit sector would be an asset.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams toward achieving excellence.
Proficiency in construction management software and tools is an asset.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CQM, ISO 9001) are advantageous.
Competent knowledge in CSA Codes and Industry Standards
Understanding of Jurisdictional Authority of requirements
Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously; meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment
Effective and efficient problem solving and decision-making skills; thoughtful, proactive, and creative
Demonstrates a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals; ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment
Natural leader and team builder who can build strong relationships quickly
Strong written and oral communication skills
