QA/QC Mechanical

Bird is looking for a QA/QC Mechanical Inspector to support quality assurance and quality control activities on a major nuclear construction project in Tiverton, Ontario. Reporting to project quality leadership, the successful candidate will work closely with construction, engineering, subcontractors, and client representatives to ensure mechanical work is completed in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes and standards, client requirements, and Bird's Quality Management System.

This position is based at the Tiverton project site.

It requires successful completion of required security screening and site access requirements.

What You Will Be Working On
  • Perform inspections of mechanical systems, equipment, piping, and installations.

  • Verify compliance with drawings, specifications, codes, standards, and project requirements.

  • Complete inspections, walkdowns, surveillance activities, and testing documentation.

  • Support Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), turnover packages, and quality records.

  • Identify and document deficiencies, NCRs, and corrective actions.

  • Participate in commissioning, system turnover, and project closeout activities.

  • Maintainaccuratequality documentation and records.

  • Promote a culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.

What We Are Looking For
  • 3+ years of QA/QC, inspection, or mechanical construction experience.

  • Experience in industrial, power generation, infrastructure, manufacturing, or nuclear environments.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical documents.

  • Familiarity with inspections, testing, turnover documentation, and NCR management.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience in nuclear or other highly regulated environments is considered an asset.

  • CWB, ASME, CSA, or related quality certifications are considered assets.

  • Must be eligible to obtain andmaintainrequired nuclear security clearance and site access.

  • Successful completion of background screening and client-specific clearance requirements is required.
