Software Quality Engineer

Duration: 6-month contract with potential for permanent hire

We are seeking a Senior Software Quality Engineer to support a growing and evolving QA function transitioning from manual testing to a modern automation-first approach. This role is ideal for a hands-on QE who thrives in transformation environments and is passionate about driving quality across UI, APIs, and backend systems.

The team is adopting the Tosca automation framework and leveraging qTest for test management. While Tosca experience is strongly preferred, candidates with Selenium or Playwright experience who have successfully led or contributed to automation transitions are encouraged to apply.

You will collaborate closely with Product Owners, Developers, and Agile teams to ensure high-quality releases through strong test design, execution, and risk assessment practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, create, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases aligned with acceptance criteria
• Develop and enhance Tosca automation frameworks and reusable modules
• Own and manage regression testing strategy and coverage
• Execute functional, regression, API, database, and performance testing
• Validate backend services, integrations, and complex data flows
• Perform data validation and calculation verification using SQL
• Manage test planning, execution, and reporting using qTest
• Log, triage, and validate defects using Azure Dev Ops
• Provide test estimates, risk assessments, and quality recommendations
• Act as a QA representative within Agile teams and actively contribute to ceremonies
• Deliver clear test metrics, status reporting, and release readiness assessments

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in software quality assurance with strong automation and manual testing experience
• Hands-on expertise with Tosca (preferred) or strong automation experience with Selenium or Playwright
• Experience working with Azure Dev Ops and qTest
• Experience with backend validation, API testing, and complex data verification
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies, SDLC, and QA best practices
• Strong communication skills and confidence in raising risks and quality concerns

Preferred Qualifications

• ISTQB certification
• Extensive experience testing APIs and backend services
• Experience contributing to QA automation transformation initiatives
