Kickstart your archaeological career with WSP as a seasonal Archaeology Field Technician I in Southwestern Ontario starting Spring 2026. Engage actively in fieldwork from assessments to excavations.

WSP is excited to welcome a motivated individual for the Archaeology Field Technician I position for the 2026 field season. This role includes comprehensive learning opportunities while participating in Stage 2 surveys and Stage 4 excavations. Work alongside experienced supervisors and fellow technicians to deliver ethical and impactful archaeology in various outdoor settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct field surveys and excavations

• Assist Field Supervisors in daily tasks

• Support fellow technicians in site work

• Emphasize safety and ethical conduct

• Adapt to working outdoors under varied conditions

Requirements:

• Willingness to engage in fieldwork

• Capable of lifting heavy materials

• Valid Ontario driver’s license with clean record

• Minimum of one field season experience desired

• Bachelor’s Degree in Archaeology or related fields is an asset
