Community Diversion Worker

Position: Community Diversion Worker at Our Place Peel
Empower youth at Our Place Peel as a Community Diversion Worker! Utilize your skills in crisis intervention and counseling to help disadvantaged youth find stable housing solutions.

This in-demand role involves supporting youth aged 16-24 at risk of homelessness. Candidates will apply strengths-based approaches, ensure access to community services, and maintain client-centered practices. Your work will contribute directly to empowering youth towards independence and long-term stability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Meet youth to assess safe living alternatives

• Provide counseling and mediation to prevent homelessness

• Collaborate with community partners for service referrals

• Utilize assessment tools for client goal development

• Prepare reports for program evaluation and development

Requirements:

• University degree in social services or equivalent

• 3+ years experience in youth homelessness support

• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and housing first

• Valid driver's license and acceptable insurance

• First Aid/CPR and CPI/UMAB certifications
