Job Description

Job Title:

Test Automation Engineer

Location:
Mississauga (Hybrid)

Role Description
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites for web and API applications.

  • Create and execute UI automation tests using Playwright, Cypress, or Ruby-based frameworks
    .

  • Develop and maintain API automation tests to validate backend services and integrations.

  • Perform database testing using SQL to ensure data integrity and accuracy.

  • Implement and execute performance and load tests using JMeter
    .

  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing.

  • Analyze test results, identify defects, and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues.

  • Use test reporting tools to provide clear visibility into test coverage and results.

  • Monitor application health and performance using New Relic, Splunk
    , or similar tools.

  • Participate in test strategy, planning, and estimation activities.

  • Ensure best practices in version control using Git
    .

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a remote environment
    .

  • Apply strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills
    .

  • Work with HTML/CSS for UI validations and front-end test enhancements (plus).

Essential

Skills & Qualifications
  • 6–8 years of experience in Test Automation / QA Engineering
    .

  • Strong hands-on experience with Playwright, Cypress, or Ruby-based automation frameworks
    .

  • Proficient in Java Script (and/or Ruby).

  • Experience in API testing (RESTful services).

  • Solid understanding of SQL and database testing
    .

  • Experience with
    performance testing tools such as JMeter
    .

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines
    .

  • Familiarity with application monitoring tools (New Relic, Splunk).

  • Strong experience using Git for source control.

  • Excellent debugging, analytical, and communication skills
    .

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setup
    .

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience with
    Ruby on Rails applications
    .

  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS
    .

  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
