Research Assistant

DHL Supply Chain is seeking a Research Assistant to conduct complex data analysis in Mississauga, ON. This person will be involved in various aspects of projects from concept and story writing to the coding, programming, and implementation of results.

• Converts business needs into mathematical equations/expressions.
• Develops mathematical and/or heuristic algorithm(s) with all practical constraints and assumptions.
• Codes the analytical tools in assigned programming languages.
• Conducts tool design reviews.
• Creates prototype of tool with basic interface for management.
• Documents tool design process.

• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, C++, Java — required.
• Working knowledge of MS Office — required.
• Good communication skills — required.
• Working knowledge of SQL — preferred.
• Good understanding of basic concepts in optimization and simulation — preferred.
• Good understanding of current heuristics/meta-heuristics used in industry and academia to solve analytical problems — preferred.
