PACT (Pearson Accelerator Construction Team) is a General Partnership of Alberici, Amico, Kenaidan, and Obayashi, supported by design partners Egis, Mott Mac Donald, and Weston Williamson + Partners. They are delivering Accelerator, a major program of Pearson LIFT (Long-term Investment in Facilities and Terminals) – Toronto Pearson’s infrastructure development plan focused on airport growth, upgrades, sustainability, and a world-class passenger experience.
JOBSUMMARY
The Construction Project Manager (Logistics) is responsible for developing and managing the overall logistics and site access strategy for PACT’s multi‑phase delivery at Toronto Pearson Airport. This includes planning and executing construction logistics such as access controls, haul routes, laydown areas, material deliveries, scheduling, temporary works, traffic control, and coordination within live airfield and terminal environments. The role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant movement of people, materials, and equipment while minimizing disruption to airport operations and working cross‑functionally with the security team.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Develop and maintain the Project Logistics Plan covering all Accelerator sub‑programs and construction phases.
- Coordinate with GTAA operations, security, and ground transportation teams for access, escorting, and temporary works approvals.
- Manage airside and landside logistics including haul routes, delivery sequencing, parking, and workforce movement.
- Lead planning of laydown areas, construction staging, and site compound setups.
- Interface with construction, safety, and environment teams to ensure compliance with GTAA and Transport Canada regulations.
- Oversee permitting and clearance requirements for vehicle and equipment access.
- Support development of material handling and crane/lift planning strategies.
- Coordinate with Procurement and Construction Managers to align delivery schedules with work sequencing.
- Manage waste and material removal logistics to optimize airside sustainability practices.
- Maintain documentation and reports on logistics KPIs, traffic volumes, and compliance metrics.
- Support emergency response planning and coordination for airside activities.
- Mentor logistics coordinators and field staff in execution of daily logistics operations.
- Partner with the Communications team to plan, coordinate, and execute all logistics requirements, providing contingency plans, material movement, operational support, risk assessments, timelines, transportation plans, and venue logistics.
The position will be based at our office in Mississauga, Ontario, with regular visits to the Airport site as required. It requires five days per week, core hours approximately 8:00 am‑5:00 pm, with an hour lunch or as agreed upon with the manager. All employees must complete a RAIC and criminal background check upon joining.
DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES- Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Operations, or Logistics.
- 8+ years of experience in logistics and project management for large infrastructure or aviation projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction staging, access management, and safety procedures in live environments.
- Experience coordinating with airport authorities, security teams, and multiple contractors is preferred.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with GTAA or other major airport procedures is considered an asset.
- Valid driver’s licence and eligibility for RAIC clearance required.
