Heavy truck driver

WASTEHAUL TRANSPORT INC is looking for a licensed driver to support freight transport operations. The role requires comprehensive vehicle maintenance, compliance documentation, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Address customers' complaints or concerns

Coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques

Provide professional customer service

Arrange travel itineraries and make reservations

Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy

Load and unload goods

Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes

Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials

Oversee vehicle condition and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment

Handle payments for goods (pay and receive)

Perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs

Perform pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspections and oversee all vehicle aspects

Perform preventive maintenance

Receive and relay information to central dispatch

Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption

Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo

Transport and handle dangerous goods

Qualifications

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

AZ class license

Experience with accident or incident reports, bill of lading, dangerous goods occurrence reports, inspection report, maintenance and repair reports, trip reports

Operating GPS and other navigation equipment

Local transportation/travel experience and willingness to travel across borders, internationally, overnight, extended periods

Valid driver’s licence and ability to drive manual transmission vehicle

Willingness to handle heavy loads and physically demanding work

Flexibility, judgement, organized, reliability, team player
