Reports to:
VP of Operations
CPC Logistics is seeking an analytically minded operations leader to drive account growth and own driver safety and regulatory compliance across our transportation operations. Reporting to the VP of Operations, you’ll lead a team of office staff and 150+ drivers (direct and indirect), with primary accountability for customer relationships, road safety, compliance, and recruitment. The ideal candidate pairs strong commercial and people leadership with the ability to dig into safety and compliance data and act on it.
Key Responsibilities- Own key customer and account relationships, driving account growth, retention, and satisfaction as the senior point of contact for the business
- Represent the company in key industry groups and associations, building relationships and staying ahead of regulatory and market developments
- Own truck driving compliance end-to-end, including Hours of Service, ELD records, driver qualification files, and CVOR standing
- Analyze road safety and compliance data — collision/incident trends, telematics, driver abstracts, violation rates — and translate findings into corrective action and policy
- Monitor and protect the company’s CVOR record and audit readiness; lead preparation for facility and safety audits
- Build and maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all federal and provincial transportation regulations
- Lead and develop office staff and 150+ drivers across multiple groups (direct and indirect reports)
- Own driver recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention to keep the operation fully staffed
- Track performance metrics (account growth, safety incidents, on-time delivery, turnover, compliance rates) and drive continuous improvement
- Handle performance management, coaching, and escalations across the team
- 5+ years of operations and/or safety leadership experience in trucking, transportation, or logistics
- Demonstrated success in customer/account management and growing accounts
- Active involvement in industry groups or associations, with a strong professional network in the transportation sector
- Strong analytical skills — proven ability to review safety and compliance data and turn it into action (experience with telematics/ELD platforms, dashboards, KPI reporting)
- In-depth knowledge of transportation safety regulations: federal Hours of Service, ELD requirements, National Safety Code, and Ontario CVOR
- Working knowledge of Ontario and Canadian employment standards legislation, with the ability to manage day-to-day compliance across the workforce
- Experience managing large front-line/driver work forces
- Experience with driver recruitment and retention in a competitive labour market
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Company Vehicle
- Discretionary Bonus
