The Erb Group is a family‑owned business that has been in the industry for over 65 years. Its head office is based in New Hamburg, Ontario, with additional Canadian terminals in Baden, Toronto, Thunder Bay, North Bay, Ottawa, Montreal, Trenton, and Winnipeg.

Shift: Part Time on call

Compensation: 0.535/mile when north of Midland or East of Oshawa; $27.59/hr when west

• Drive to locations to deliver and/or pick up product. Fill out all required paperwork.
• Represent Erb Transport professionally and give the best customer service possible.
• Drive safely in all types of road and weather conditions and temperatures.
• Deliver freight as per schedule and company policy.
• Communicate with dispatch according to department procedures regarding pickups, deliveries or inquiries.
• Perform required pre/post‑trip inspection ensuring equipment is in safe working order.
• Communicate with shop when maintenance is required.
• Submit all required paperwork according to company policy.
• Comply with all hours of service and Ministry of Transportation regulations for all jurisdictions.
• Load and unload product in a safe, accurate and professional manner.
• Comply with operations of The Erb Group and company regulations.
• Attend Driver Safety meetings.
• Use onboard telematic device which includes electronic log and communication system for communication with dispatch.
• Other duties as required.

• Minimum 1 year verifiable driving experience on a specific license required.
• Meet the licensing requirements for the specific job opening.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug test and health survey.
• CVOR, Driver abstract and a copy of a driver’s license must be provided at time of interview.
• Employment reference check will be completed.
• Drivers must be able to bend, lift and carry freight up to 80lbs.
• Criminal record check will be required.
• Required to wear PPE (provided by The Erb Group).

Varies from terminal to terminal, but primarily will be:
The Erb Group is a 24/7 operation, with runs departing daily.

Departure times will vary and will be determined by H.O.S. regulations.

On call positions do not have set start times. There is no set end time on any given day and work can be up to and including the HOS regulations.

Drivers can expect from 1 to 20 deliveries and pickups daily.
