Operations Specialist​/City Planner

We are seeking a Operations Specialist/City Planner to join our client's team in Mississauga, ON.

The ideal candidate for this position is a dedicated individual with proven experience in Logistics Dispatching/Routing/Planning, strong administrative skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Shift: 2:00am-10:30am Monday-Friday

Pay: $/hour based on experience

Responsibilities:
- Planning and assigning 55+ driver routes
- Adjusting/reassigning plans as needed to accommodate late freight, issues, updates
- Loading trips into TMS system
- Utilizing Truck Mate software to build and manage trip plans
- Prioritizing inbound freight volumes for next day delivery
- Performing driver check in/out procedures
- Maintaining accurate route manifests, trip records, dock paperwork, and performance data
- Preparing dispatch documentation/trip manifests/routing instructions
- Working with other teams to coordinate shift handover, workflow, ensure freight is staged correctly, validate freight availability, and resolve issues
- Other duties as required

Qualifications:

- Previous work experience in LTL Dispatch, Routing, or Transportation Planning within the Logistics industry (minimum 2 years)
- Knowledge of the GTA/Southern Ontario delivery network and traffic patterns
- Strong knowledge of LTL operations, trip planning, and city routing practices
- Dispatch/TMS systems experience (I.e. Truck Mate)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Excellent communications skills (written and verbal)
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills
- High attention to detail
- Able to work independently
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work on the 2:00AM shift
