The Program Specialist of Curricular Extensions plays a central operational leadership role in supporting Wharton’s undergraduate and graduate leadership education. Reporting to the Director of Undergraduate Leadership Development, this position independently oversees key operational workflows that connect Wharton’s foundational leadership courses with high-impact co-curricular programming.

Job Description

The Program Specialist of Curricular Extensions plays an operational leadership role in supporting Wharton’s leadership education. The role includes end-to-end management of workflows that connect curricular courses with co-curricular programs, and serves as the operational liaison to Penn Athletics for PAWLA. The specialist coordinates with Wharton Operations, IT/AV, program offices, and administrative units; trains and supervises temporary staff, graduate assistants, and/or undergraduate student workers;

and ensures accuracy and timeliness of established workflows.

Responsibilities
  • Designing and refining program workflows for Gateway P3:
    Purpose, Passion, Principles; managing registration systems and communications templates; coordinating vendor and partner engagement; and serving as the primary logistical contact for students, facilitators, staff, and external partners.
  • Acting as the operational liaison to Penn Athletics for PAWLA, coordinating support structures, communications sequences, and program materials.
  • Overseeing core operational functions for Wharton’s foundational leadership courses (MGMT 6100, WH1010, MGMT 4020) including logistical planning, client-engagement workflows, TA onboarding processes, and cross-unit coordination.
  • Training and supervising temporary staff, graduate assistants, and/or undergraduate student workers responsible for routine execution, and maintaining lead responsibility for accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to workflows.
  • Strengthening integration of curricular and co-curricular leadership learning through independent problem-solving and collaboration.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2–3 years of related experience, preferably in a university setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to coordinate complex logistics and workflows across diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to exercise independent judgment with accountability for reliable, timely, and well-documented work.
  • Ability to work effectively with faculty, students, administrators, and external partners to create program solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with professionalism and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); knowledge of basic accounting preferred.
  • Experience with online survey instruments such as Qualtrics is desirable.
  • Comfort with, and enthusiasm for, data and spreadsheets.
