Position: Academic Adjunct Pool - George County
Location: Perkinston

Work as an adjunct instructor at the George County Center. Applicant will assume responsibility for teaching subject matter in addition to good citizenship, respect for rights of others, respect for college property, and proper attitude.

Job Duties
  • Teach courses assigned by the Administrative Dean and Academic Coordinator. Teaching load will vary and can include regular and non-traditional classes/assignments, including classes during the day, evenings, weekends, and on-line. Classes shall be met when scheduled and for the entire period of time scheduled.
  • Work with the school chair, as directed, on annual goals and objectives, strategic initiatives, standards and measures, student learning outcomes (SLO), etc.
  • Work closely with the school chair in the continued evaluation and improvement of subject curricula. Update syllabi annually.
  • Maintain a familiarity with Learning Lab services available to students and make recommendations for Learning Lab improvements via the school chair.
  • Strive to better understand students’ learning styles and work to improve teaching methods, content, and value of each course taught.
  • Provide students with course objectives and course outlines that have been approved by the department chair and the Dean.
  • Use diverse instructional methodology including audio-visual, computer software, and other technological means.
  • Mandatory Qualifications
    • (M1) Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in subject matter.
    • (M2) Ability to teach college-level subject matter courses.
    • (M3) Effective written and interpersonal communications skills.
    • (M4) Proficient user of learning management systems (e.g., Canvas), Microsoft Office Suite, and other educational technologies.
    Desirable Qualifications
    • (D1) Experience in teaching subject at the college level.
    • (D2) Masters or Doctorate in subject matter from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
    • (D3) Online teaching experience.
