Who We’re Looking For

Toyota’s Environmental and Facilities Engineering Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Engineer - Production Engineering for Mechanical/Electrical/Controls. The primary responsibility of this role is to design and manage construction projects (expansions, renovations, greenfield, etc.) at our sites in North America. Reporting to the Manager, Environmental and Facilities Plant Engineering, you will support the department’s objective to provide project management, construction, and building design to ensure projects are designed and built to quality, cost, schedule and safety KPIs for North American manufacturing sites, Research & Development sites and logistics and distribution sites.

This position can be based out of any of these seven manufacturing centers:
PEMC (Georgetown, KY),
TMMTN (Jackson, TN),
TMMMO (Troy, Missouri),
TMMWV (Buffalo, WV),
TMMAL (Huntsville, AL),
TBMNC (Liberty, North Carolina) or TMMMS (Blue Springs, MS).

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Engineer for North American facility projects.
  • Develop and review criteria (Civil/Structural/Mechanical/Electrical) for design of buildings.
  • Provide technical support to North American Manufacturing Centers (plants) in the areas of building design and construction, including development and maintaining of building related standards.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for industrial buildings and building related systems (HVAC, air compressor, boilers, chillers, etc.) as technical support for local facility groups at each site, as well as for submittals during project management.
  • Utilize experience in plant planning project management, construction, and building design to ensure projects are designed and built to quality, cost, schedule and safety KPIs.
  • Provide Customer Satisfaction with proper communication and consensus with customer to support their needs.
  • Prepare and report out detailed project status reports.
  • Participate, conduct and lead engineering studies.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 75%.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Civil/Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or similar discipline).
  • Experience in building design and construction, including industrial buildings and building related systems.
  • Project engineering experience for industrial construction projects.
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
    • Industrial mechanical systems (piping, chilled water, compressed air, etc.).
    • Industrial power systems (switch gear, power distribution systems, 480

      VAC and higher).
    • Controls such as PLC, networking systems, Building Management Systems and/or Variable Frequency Drive.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 75%.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
Added bonus if you have
  • Project management experience for industrial construction projects.
  • Experience in industrial structural steel systems.
  • Experience in large scale civil installations.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License.
  • Experience with Project Management software such as MS Project, Auto Desk Build, Primavera, Pro Core or similar.
