Job SummaryAs a Maintenance Engineer/Site IT at Firehawk Aerospace, you will play a critical role in developing, optimizing, and supporting manufacturing processes for our rocket motor systems. You will work closely with site management, safety, corporate IT, quality, and production teams to ensure efficient, high‑quality, and scalable manufacturing operations. This position requires a hands‑on approach to problem‑solving, a strong understanding of mechanical systems, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Responsibilities- Re‑establish manufacturing infrastructure to proper working order to include Compressed Air Systems, Electrical, and Lightning Protection Systems.
- Develop a preventative maintenance schedule for all facilities and manufacturing equipment.
- Repair equipment and systems as required.
- Assist in developing corporate policies for maintenance.
- Assist with production line development and tooling.
- Test Lightning Protection Systems (LPS) in accordance with DoD 4145-26M and maintain testing documentation.
- Test energetic production workstations and conductive mats in accordance with DoD 4145-26M and maintain testing documentation.
- Support the implementation of automation and advanced manufacturing technologies into manufacturing processes.
- Support the design, procurement, and implementation of manufacturing tools, fixtures, and equipment to meet production requirements.
- Manage contractors on site as required.
- Assist corporate IT with establishing and maintaining site network.
- Assist corporate IT with security systems integration.
- Assist corporate IT with desktop support.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements for all site systems and equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in maintenance engineering, maintenance, or production support in aerospace, defense or related manufacturing industry.
- Experience with manufacturing process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and control plans.
- Experience with interpreting blueprints and product drawings.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams.
- Electrically certified person of at least level 3.
- Experience with preventative maintenance management systems.
- Experience with site IT networking and operating systems.
- Must be able to pass ATF background check for employee possessor of explosives.
- Working knowledge of Mil‑Std‑4145 (explosive safety).
- Experience in the manufacturing of rockets or weapon systems and components.
- Experience with automation and robotics in manufacturing processes.
