Description:
Under the direction of the Dietary Supervisor, the Dietary Aide is responsible for assisting in preparing meals. The Dietary Aide works alongside the dietitian, Supervisor of Dietary, and Cook to prepare meals for patients, employees, and visitors. Duties include preparing and cooking foods, delivering food to designated areas and patients, and helping kitchen staff maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
Work assignments are determined by patient census and current staff levels.
Hours:
Assigned to an 80-hour pay period with rotating weekends. Morning shift 5:30am–2:00pm; evening shift 11:00am–7:00pm.
Compliance:
The Dietary Aide is expected to function within approved policies, procedures, and regulations for the department and organization. Must relate and work in a professional, non-defensive manner with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors. Attendance at yearly mandatory education is non-negotiable and is the employee’s responsibility to schedule and attend sessions.
