- Provides and directs fast, efficient Advanced Life Support to the ill and injured utilizing all basic and advanced abilities and techniques, including but not limi ted to the placement of peripheral and intra-o sseous lin es, Supraglottic airways, endotracheal intubations , Cricothyrotomy, fluid and drug therapy, cardiac monitoring and EKG int erp ret ations, defibrillation, and cardioversion;
- Recognizes and understands a medical emergency and makes reasonable and acceptab l e differential diagnosis;
- Recognizes common cardiacdysrhythmias and understands the principles and treatment modalities for li fe threatening dysrhythmias ;
- Understa nds and anticipates the pharmacological treatment of critically ill and injured patients;
- Understands and anticipates potentially life-threatening presentation of non-cardiac emergenc i es andinstitut e s appropriat e e mergency therapy where essential for the preservation of life;
- Deals with medical andemotiona l needsof any victimofacuteillnessorinjurywiththegoal of reducingmortalityand morbidity;
- Responsible for managing and directing all first responders at the scene of a medical emergency such as EMR's, Police Departments, and EMT's;
- Responsible for quality patient-care as established by the Company;
- Files standard i zed reportsofpatient information and care forthe useofreceiving hospital and administration,including natureofrequestfor aid,pertinentpasthistory,therapy provided diagnosis, dispositionandsufficientpatient informationforbilling purposes;
- Maintains effective communication with physici a n ondutyathospitalto relate patient condition and obtain orders for treatment;
- Follows standard written protocols when a physician cannot be contacted;
- Transport s the ill and injured to institution s of medical care ;
- Operates emergency vehicles in a safe manner under all condition;
- Properly comp l ets patient statistics and medical information forms fo r administrative use ;
- Performs technical r escues in remo v ing victims from varied terrain and circumstances; and
- Follow s stan dard operating policies and procedure s as de ve l oped and direc ted by the Company ;
- Cleans and Maintains equipment .
- Cleans and maintains (minor maintenance) vehicles;
- C l eans and maintains li v ing quarters;
- Maintains records of vehicles, su ppli es, training and daily work; and
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
The s upervi so r makes assignmentsinterms of shifts tobeworked and the generalscopeofthework assignment. The incumbent performs theworkinaccordance withtheprocedures,policiesandmedicalordersprovided. The incumbent mustexercisejudgmentinapplying the proper guideline to the proper situation. The workisspot checked and evaluated based on feedback fromthe patient,medical staff and others.
Minimum QualificationsMust possess and maintain:

CPR for the Health Care Provider
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Good knowledge of the street sys tems, addresses andphysica l layoutofthearea,and of the rescue equipment andtheemergency medicalequipmentusedin
Advanced Life Support.
Good ability to :

A uthor reports with narrative and numeric information.
Additionally, incumbents must maintain a high degree of academic and practical knowledge in emergency para-medicine , and must attend sufficient continuing education classes, courses and seminars both on and off dut y to maintain annual paramedic certification, as required by the state in which you will be working.
