Position: Performance Development Leader

Overview

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Performance Leader for our Plywood Facility in Taylorsville. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role focuses on advancing the capabilities and performance of both salaried and hourly employees to drive long-term value creation. The Performance Leader will identify and address performance gaps, mentor employees, and foster a culture of continuous improvement aligned with our Principle Based Management® (PBM®) culture.

With a general understanding of Plywood Plant operations, this leader will manage all aspects of hourly employee development and team performance to ensure operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to drive change, facilitate improvement, and stay current with best practices.

What You Will Do (Responsibilities)
  • Lead, coach, and mentor employees to continuously improve their knowledge, skills, and performance in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Encourage and incentivize knowledge sharing and transfer between team members.
  • Provide resources to help employees develop their own careers and realize their full potential while becoming increasingly self-actualized.
  • Manage individual performance and hold employees accountable for their results through vision setting, one-on-one conversations, and performance feedback.
  • Identify and address performance and knowledge gaps through constructive challenges and actionable strategies.
  • Work closely with department managers, supervisors, and other key stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and drive change.
  • Promote operational discipline and safe working practices to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Implement strategies to build technical and operational capabilities aligned with Georgia-Pacific’s long-term vision.
Basic Qualifications
  • Three (3) or more years of experience leading people including completing performance reviews, setting expectations, and holding people accountable
  • Three (3) or more years of manufacturing experience or military experience
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Suite Programs
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Associate degree or higher in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Operations Management
  • Five (5) or more years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing plant with responsibility for direct reports
  • Experience building operational learning and development programs that support skill building, operational efficiency, and safe working practices
  • Familiarity with industrial and/or manufacturing environments, particularly within plywood or building products operations
