Operations Manager, General Management
The Waste Pro Landfill Supervisor will oversee landfill assets and ensure daily site procedures are followed. The role manages financial performance and productivity across multiple operating units, driving operational excellence and implementing organizational initiatives. The Supervisor is responsible for onboarding, developing, coaching, mentoring, and performance managing staff.
Responsibilities- Manage and supervise landfill staff, evaluating work to ensure quality, timeliness, and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Coordinate workflow and assignments to achieve operational goals.
- Oversee repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
- Institute and monitor preventive maintenance on all equipment.
- Collect weekly/monthly readings, create reports, and submit records.
- Provide input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.
- Maintain a safe landfill and enforce safe operating standards.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Monitor productivity, control costs, and oversee permitting activities.
- Act as liaison with environmental agencies and state/federal officials regarding landfill operations and permitting.
- Train and mentor staff on proper operations and potential issues.
- Ensure cleanliness, aesthetics, and maintenance of the landfill through inspections and preventive maintenance programs.
- Attend scheduled P&L reviews and execute prescribed programs on routing, equipment utilization, maintenance, labor, and material costs.
- Bachelor's Degree or High School Diploma/GED plus 5 years of relevant work experience.
- 3+ years of landfill management experience.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and detail‑oriented skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines, set priorities, and manage time effectively.
- Strong leadership and training abilities; multitasking in a fast‑paced environment.
- State Landfill Operator Certification or ability to obtain it.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment, health, safety, environmental regulations, and supervisory experience.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Job Responsibilities
- Attend and participate in corporate sponsored training courses as assigned.
- Keep up to date on current technology appropriate to the job.
- Obtain landfill operators license required by state within the first year of employment.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the Supervisor.

- Required to exert physical effort in handling objects up to 50 pounds.
The role is carried out in an office or disposal facility and may include a variety of environmental conditions, including wide variations of temperatures, weather conditions, noise, vibrations, fumes, odors, and dust.
