Forklift Operator – Shipping

Interfor is seeking skilled, safety-minded, and motivated individuals to join our team as a Forklift Operator – Shipping in Bay Springs
, Mississippi
. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a forklift to move, load, and organize products throughout the mill, supporting efficient and smooth production operations. The pay rate for this position is up to $22.85 per hour.

• Operate forklifts safely in compliance with all Interfor, OSHA, and MOPED safety standards and guidelines.
• Move inventory and materials across company facilities, stacking and organizing large bulk items efficiently.
• Work collaboratively with team members to load and unload materials safely.
• Update inventory activity, logs, lists, and records accurately.
• Identify damaged materials or replacements needed and report appropriately.
• Address and clean up any spills or safety hazards before leaving the shift.
• Perform daily pre-shift forklift inspections to ensure equipment is safe and operational.
• Clean forklifts regularly using a pressure washer and assist with preventive maintenance tasks, including tire changes.
• Follow all safety policies, job safety analyses, and standard operating procedures to prevent injuries and avoid damage to mill property.
• Must be able to safely climb on top of railcars and be comfortable working in elevated areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or mill management.
• Be available for occasional weekend work as required.
• Physical Requirements:
  
  Walking, Standing and Sitting, Stairs, Bending and Lifting (Up to 50 lbs.).

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification through a standard training course.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Ability to respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations, following established procedures.
