Job Purpose

The Site Receipt Inspector II & III (RI II & RI III) performs a material receiving, inspection and dedication function at a nuclear site(s) and the role requires ANSI N45.2.6 Level II or III certification. The RI II & III utilizes and applies basic knowledge and experience across the breadth of responsibilities assigned to this position during the implementation of inspection, examination and testing procedures for the receipt and dedication of purchased material:

  • Planning inspections, examinations and tests;
  • Setting up tests, including preparation and setup of related equipment, as appropriate;
  • Supervising or maintaining surveillance over the inspections, examinations and tests;
  • Supervising and training less experienced personnel;
  • Reporting inspection, examination and testing results;
  • Evaluating the validity and acceptability of inspection, examination and test results;
  • Recording inspections, examinations and testing data.

The Level III Inspector evaluates the adequacy of specific programs used to train and certify inspection and test personnel in accordance with ANSI N45.2.6 and program requirements.

Education, Experience and/or Certification

Site Receipt Inspector II:

  • One year of satisfactory performance as a Level I in the corresponding inspection or test category or class, OR
  • High school graduate or have earned a GED equivalent to a high school diploma plus three years of related experience in equivalent inspection, examination, testing activities/equivalent activities, OR
  • Completion of college-level work leading to an associate degree in a related discipline plus one year of related experience in equivalent inspection, examination, testing activities /equivalent activities, OR
  • Four-year college graduate plus six months of related experience in equivalent inspection, examination, testing activities or equivalent activities.

In all cases, the RI II must meet ANSI/ASME N45.2.6 minimum requirements.

Site Receipt Inspector III:

  • High school graduate or have earned a GED equivalent to a high school diploma plus ten years of related experience in equivalent inspection, examination or testing activities; or high school graduate plus eight years’ experience in equivalent inspection, examination or testing activities, with at least two years as Level II inspector and with at least two years associated with nuclear facilities or, if not, at least sufficient training to be acquainted with the relevant quality assurance aspects or a nuclear facility, OR
  • Completion of college-level work leading to an associate degree plus seven years of related experience in equivalent inspection, examination or testing activities; with at least two years of this experience associated with nuclear facilities or, if not, at least sufficient training to be acquainted with the relevant quality assurance aspects of a nuclear facility, OR
  • Four-year college graduate plus five years of related experience in equivalent inspection, examination or testing activities, with a least two years of this experience associated with nuclear facilities or, if not, at least sufficient training to be acquainted with the relevant quality assurance aspects of a nuclear facility.

In all cases, the RI III must have ANSI/ASME N45.2.6 Level II certification.
