Overview

Pay Rate Starting at: Level $12.00/hr rates of pay are determined by previous experience and labor contract seniority.

The mission of all Tops associates is to adhere to the Tops vision of providing a friendly neighborhood store that saves the customer time and money. Bakery clerk must possess reasonable knowledge in storing, preparing, and maintaining bakery products. Clerk is responsible for slicing, pricing, and packaging product, as well as maintaining shelves, cases, and displays. Clerks are also responsible for setting an example in providing attentive and courteous customer service.

• Follow all Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as company policies regarding Bakery operations, safety, and sanitation
• Maintain proper shelf/display conditions through cleaning, straightening, and rotating products
• Adhere to company policy through proper processing, preparation, and packaging of product
• Take customer orders accurately for cakes or other specialty items as needed
• Complete all necessary paperwork relating to Bakery Department
• Maintain a “Clean as you go” policy
• Maintain adequate supplies
• Minors may work in a sales capacity, packaging and limited production
• Minimize shrink through proper handling and storing of product

• Must be at least 18 yrs. of age to perform certain functions/tasks

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions
• Possess basic computer skills
• Possess strong communication skills

• Operation of the following
• Mixer (must be 18 years of age)
• Oven (must be 18 years of age)
• Fryer (must be 18 years of age)
• Proofer
• Pallet Jack (must be 18 years of age)
• Pan washer (must be 18 years of age)
• Slicer (must be 18 years of age)
• Baler/compactor (must be 18 years of age)
• Jelly pump
• Ladder (must be 18 years of age)
• Knife/Box cutter (must be 16 years of age)
• Computerized label machine
• Computer
