Maintenance Engineer

Overview

Butte location preferred; will consider other major office locations in Montana (Billings, Bozeman, Great Falls, Helena or Missoula) for the right candidate.

Position
:
Maintenance Engineer or similarly titled role at North Western Energy (full-time)

• Evaluate emerging technologies and establish tools for central maintenance programs.
• Collect data, analyze and provide recommendations based on department needs.
• Create, issue and evaluate Request for Proposals for contract resources to perform maintenance activities.
• Initiate and review contracts and ensure North Western Energy project interests and specifications are represented prior to contract execution.
• Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of business processes and procedures based on company requirements.
• Develop schedule, cost, and scope controls to monitor contractor performance against annual goals.
• Lead special projects and utilize change and project management techniques as required.
• Assist in developing and managing capital expense budgets.
• Travel to job sites, off-site meetings, and up to 25% travel per year including overnight stays when necessary.

• Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record.
• Must have a B.S. in Engineering; experienced and upcoming December 2025 graduates encouraged to apply.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Good working knowledge of utility operation maintenance activities.
• First aid/CPR certification preferred.
• Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
