About the Role
A Credit Analyst II (CA II) is responsible for thoroughly analyzing financial data to support credit authorizations, portfolio management, and new business opportunities. The role requires a strong knowledge of credit underwriting practices across Commercial & Industrial (C&I), Commercial Real Estate, and Nonprofit lending, and the ability to analyze complex financial statements and tax returns.
Duties and Responsibilities- Complete comprehensive financial analysis for current and prospective clients using accepted financial methods.
- Independently analyze complex financial statements and tax returns, and develop questions and comments on financial trends and borrower data.
- Maintain extensive knowledge of lending policies, procedures, and bank practices.
- Provide project level support (Lead or Assist) to improve team operations and bank processes.
- Mentor or train junior analysts and coach the team as needed.
- Perform annual term loan reviews and keep tracking up to date.
- Support the preparation of Problem Loan Reports.
- Conduct credit investigations and monitor customer accounts for changes affecting credit standing.
- Work with Commercial Loan Officers to manage customer relationships and loan portfolios.
- Accompany Commercial Loan Officers on sales and customer calls as requested.
- Recommend approval or changes in new or existing credit lines to the Commercial Loan Officer.
- Produce high‑quality financial analysis within an acceptable time frame monitored by the Underwriting Manager or similar.
- Ensure accuracy with an error rate satisfactory to the Underwriting Manager.
- Lead or heavily contribute to successful implementation of a project each year.
- Complete 1–2 self‑identified professional development opportunities per year.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations, including BSA, Patriot Act, and OFAC.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of customer information.
- Develop and improve skills through training programs and regular feedback with supervisors.
- Adhere to First Security Bank’s core values and represent the bank professionally.

- Positively attend to essential job functions, including in‑person contact with customers.
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
- Two to four years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
- A bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
- Must possess a current, valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of banking compliance regulations and guidelines related to responsibility.
- Working knowledge of standard office equipment and Microsoft applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong customer‑service orientation and teamwork skills.
- Professionalism, ethical behavior, and confidentiality at all times.
- Quality management, adaptability, planning, organization, and judgment/problem‑solving skills.
- Mathematical and analytical thinking abilities related to lending activities.
- Negotiation, networking, and conflict‑resolution skills.
Work is performed indoors in a climate‑controlled shared work area with moderate noise. Up to 25% travel by automobile, commercial airlines, or public transportation is required, and an employee must be able to drive and have proper licensing.
Physical DemandsTypical duties include sitting, using hands for repetitive motions, speaking, and hearing. Occasional standing, walking, lifting up to 10 pounds, and other light physical tasks are required. Travel may require standing, kneeling, or climbing stairs.
