Corporate Computer Operator

About The Role

The Computer Operator will provide data center operational support for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly processing tasks. This includes critical support of major bank accounting software systems and all other applications within GBCI’s processing suite, with severe consequences if errors or timing delays occur. The role involves monitoring online processing, running various reports related to data center operations, and supporting bank employees via phone, e‑mail, and the employee self‑service platform.

It also includes handling incidents that pertain to internal software systems.

This corporate position is located in Helena, MT or Missoula, MT. The entry‑rate for this position is $22.32+ per hour.

• Run and monitor batch processing and file transmissions for all banks in the organization to ensure all jobs and transmissions are run as scheduled. Keep issues resolved per procedures with strict attention to accuracy and timeliness.
• Determine problems and create problem tickets for data center hardware and ATM units; create hardware service calls with vendors and/or contact designated IT or branch personnel as needed. Monitor vendor service calls to ensure timely repair.
• Monitor computer systems and peripheral equipment for alarms and error messages; communicate malfunctions to supervisor, IT personnel, or service vendor. Monitor vendor service calls to ensure timely repair.
• Run and monitor all Month End, Quarter End, and Year End jobs and distribute their output.
• Assist with help‑desk requests, participate in special projects, create queries, reports, new database development, and modifications to existing ones.
• Assist with test runs for performance and accuracy of new programs and modifications to existing programs; assist with test prints of new and revised forms.
• Comply with all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Complete assigned online training courses and achieve a passing score by the due date.

High School Diploma / GED (required).

At least 3 years of computer support experience in IT.

• Excellent courtesy and tact in interactions with customers and colleagues.
• Working knowledge of how to operate a computer and peripheral equipment such as printers, tape, and disc drives.
• Ability to learn and understand basic computer concepts to operate various computer equipment.
• Capacity to work independently, often being the only person on a shift, and to complete work in a timely manner.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under strict deadlines.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Exposure to sensitive information and use of tact, diplomacy, and judgment.
• Regular, reliable, and timely attendance.

Occasional travel (less than 10 days per year) by automobile (driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles, and public transportation; must be able to lodge in public facilities.
