The Corrosion Technician, Montana Midstream provides corrosion control services to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements for pipeline and terminal assets in Montana. This position may be based in Helena or Missoula. The Corrosion Technician, under the general direction of the Corrosion Supervisor, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs corrosion equipment for pipeline facilities in accordance with company policies, procedures, and regulations.

Your assessment results will be valid for one year.
- Complete annual cathodic protection surveys.
- Complete rectifier and bond inspections.
- Test and troubleshoot CP systems using various types of CP equipment.
- Evaluate and provide recommendations to mitigate corrosion control issues.
- Utilize PCS software to record, monitor, and evaluate CP data and internal coupon data to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Utilize SAP for tracking PMs and WOs.
- Complete and issue corrosion compliance reports.
- Monitor and evaluate internal corrosion control systems.
- Coordinate the efforts of operation and maintenance personnel when they provide corrosion control services.
- Coordinate the efforts of contractors when they provide corrosion control services.
- Coordinate the implementation of corrosion control projects.
- Provide corrosion control support on integrated project teams.
- Prepare proposed budgets for corrosion control programs and track approved budgets.
- Participate in regulatory and corporate audits.
- Support IMP data analysis & assessments.
- Support Pipeline Integrity Programs.
- Participate with teams in the corrosion function regarding best practices & compliance issues.
- Achieve certification through technical experience, education, examinations, and references. Annually maintain certification through professional activities and respond to emergencies as requested.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Reside within 50 miles (or willing and able to relocate, if selected) of the reporting location (Missoula or Helena)
- Willingness and ability to perform and comply with following, with or without reasonable accommodation:
- To walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material on a daily basis on even & uneven terrain
- To use hand & power tools
- To work alone a high percentage of the time
- To raise & transport supplies & equipment weighing 40 lbs
- To climb to the top of tanks & other facility assets
- To use work equipment manuals & maps
- To work outside in harsh weather conditions
- To travel up to 25% of the time
- 2 or more years of experience with current corrosion control methods
- NACE CP Level 1 Certification
- Associate’s degree or higher in Corrosion Technology or related field
- NACE CP Level II Certification or higher or Equivalent Certification
- Proficient in SAP, CPDM, PCS or other Cathodic Protection Data Management systems
This position has a base salary range (before overtime) of $81,000 to $123,200.
