Ameri Corps VISTA - Leader with Montana Campus Network for Civic Engagement

Montana Campus Network for Civic Engagement (MCNCE) serves as the intermediary for this project. MCNCE is a coalition of colleges and universities dedicated to fostering civic engagement, service learning, and volunteerism across Montana. Led by CEOs from participating institutions, MCNCE works to improve community life and educate students on civic and social responsibility, preparing them to be thoughtful, compassionate, and engaged leaders.

Duties

Montana Campus Network for Civic Engagement (MCNCE) is a CEO‑led coalition of colleges and universities that support civic engagement, service learning, and volunteerism across the state. Every year we place cohorts of full‑time, part‑time, and summer Ameri Corps members with schools, colleges, nonprofits, and government agencies in Montana. The Ameri Corps projects we facilitate increase educational equity, break down barriers between higher education and community organizations, and address the root causes of poverty in communities across the state.

The Ameri Corps VISTA Leader will contribute to the successful functioning of our Ameri Corps VISTA program by ensuring that VISTA members have the resources and support they need to have positive and productive service. Develop professional relationships with VISTA members and their project supervisors. Conduct regular check‑ins with VISTA members to answer their questions and support them during the service year.

Facilitate bi‑monthly solidarity calls for VISTA members. Accompany the VISTA Director on service site visits. Contribute to the planning of service projects, such as for Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service. Support the team in planning VISTA training events, including activities such as coordinating travel plans for members and delivering educational presentations.
