Purpose of PositionThis position will be actively involved in order selection, staging, and loading of merchandise for the following day’s deliveries. The role may also perform dayshift activities as needed.
Compensation$17 per hour plus bi‑weekly performance incentive.
Typical Full‑Time ScheduleMonday – Thursday, 1:30 pm – close (10–12 hour shifts; end time varies nightly).
Typical Part‑Time ScheduleMonday – Thursday, 5–6 hours each night (flexible based on availability);
Fridays, 11:00 am – 3:00 pm (end time varies daily).
- Maintain an efficient quality and productivity standard established by the supervisor.
- Accurately read orders, pick products from warehouse location, and ensure proper building of pallets for next day delivery.
- Participate in control of damage and minimization of product loss.
- Properly wrap, block, and load assigned nightly routes.
- Remove all shrink wrap from picking pallets and neatly stack empty pallets.
- Advocate for a positive workplace environment.
- Apply safety and maintenance policies as they apply to operations.
- Maintain minimum cases per hour picked with appropriate speed and accuracy.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations regarding the warehousing of alcoholic beverages.
- Do not abuse equipment and maintain company property.
- Maintain appropriate dress and appearance per company standards.
- Display effective interpersonal communication with suppliers, employees, and customers.
- Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness to ensure quality of work.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Show sound judgment, decision-making, and accountability.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous warehouse experience a plus.
- General understanding of warehouse logistics or equivalent experience.
- Ability to lift/carry/move 35 lbs (maximum 160 lbs).
- Ability to stand for long periods (including bending, reaching, lifting, pulling).
- Ability to operate forklift, pallet jack, and scissor lift.
- Familiarity with warehouse layout, product location, and rotation.
- Positive team dynamics and productive communication skills.
- Effective communication with staff, vendors, agencies, and public.
- Work on own initiative handling wide range of tasks.
- Understand and effectively communicate Summit Beverage’s mission and goals.
- Seeing:
Must read bin location labels, product descriptions, tablet and handheld devices (75-100% of the time). - Hearing:
Must hear well enough to communicate with employees and voice pick commands; ability to hear horn/alarms (75-100%). - Standing/Walking: 75-100% of the time.
- Sitting at desk/During driving: 0-24% of the time.
- Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: 75-100% of the time.
- Lift/Push/Pull: 75-100% of the time, lifting approx. 35-55 lbs repetitively up to 165 lbs occasionally (keg).
- Dexterity: 75-100% of the time.
- Driving & travel: 0-24% of the time.
The employee works in a warehouse that may have extreme cold, extreme heat, wet and/or humid conditions when working outside. The job includes continual movement and vibration while using powered industrial equipment, working near moving mechanical equipment. Noise level is usually moderate.
