Inventory Planner

Overview

We are looking for an Inventory Planner to join our Rexel team in Missouri City, TX!

The Inventory Planner is responsible for evaluating inventory levels and adjusting ERP settings to obtain inventory, replenishment, and customer service goals for the region. The Inventory Planner oversees the management of unproductive inventory by working across regions to coordinate transferring inventory and coordinates supplier returns within the region.

• Monitor inventory budgets/KPIs and adjust inventory settings to achieve regional goals.
• Explain and instruct purchasing practices and philosophies: review items for purchase, initiate changes as identified, and adjust parameters in conjunction with Region and Procurement leadership.
• Identify areas for improvement and develop solutions related to replenishment failures.
• Effectively present and discuss corporate inventory management goals and guidelines including inventory goals, turnover, and vendor changes.
• Instruct associates directly responsible for purchasing, inventory management, and control across the division.
• Travel as necessary to accomplish vendor and manufacturing representative alignments, branch associate training, HQ meetings, and branch/vendor rapport.
• Manage unproductive inventory by coordinating inventory transfers and supplier returns across regions.
• Communicate consistently and timely with associates to keep them advised of current issues, initiatives, and pertinent topics via conference call, webcast, email, newsletter, and on-site visits.
• Provide strategic procurement and sales related reports as requested.
• Ensure compliance with all laws and Rexel USA policies and procedures.
• Consistently display a customer service attitude toward branches and develop rapport with DVP, functional Divisional Managers, Area Managers, and all branch and sales associates.
• Maintain vendor relations including negotiating local/regional programs, resolving disputes, communicating corporate expectations, and communicating the relationship between partner vendors and the Hub Network.
• Offer training and advice to department associates.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• 4+ years of supply chain management or procurement/buyer experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent - Required.
• Advanced proficiency in Eclipse and Replenishment Applications.
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to multi-task and perform in a dynamic, fast paced, changing environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with internal customers and suppliers.
• Ability to perform effectively and independently in a virtual environment.
• Strong problem‑solving and solid mathematical skills.
• Work overtime as needed.
