POSITION SUMMARY

The Controls Developer, II will play a role in designing, developing, and implementing control systems for the TEAL Systems. They work closely with the engineering and product development teams to ensure the efficient and effective control of TEAL Systems, enabling optimal performance, energy efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Expertise in controls programming and system integration will contribute to the continuous improvement and innovation of hot water products.

ESSENTIAL

FUNCTIONS
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to design control systems for TEAL Systems, considering factors such as temperature regulation, flow control, pressure management, and safety features.
  • Develop and implement software programs to control the operation and functionality of TEAL Systems. This includes programming controller, Human Machine Interface (HMI) panels, PLC’S and other control devices.
  • Integrate control systems with various components and subsystems of hot water systems, such as pumps, valves, sensors, and actuators.
  • Conduct thorough testing of control systems to verify their functionality, reliability, and adherence to specification. Identify and resolve any issues or bugs through rigorous debugging and troubleshooted processes.
  • Analyze and optimize control algorithms and parameters to enhance the overall performance, efficiency, and safety of hot water systems.
  • Prepare clear and concise technical documentation, including control system specifications, user manuals, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, and technicians, to ensure effective implementation of control systems.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal and external stakeholders regarding control system functionalities, operation, and troubleshooting.
  • Stay updated with the lates advancements and trends in controls development, automation, and TEAL System technologies.
  • Contribute to research and development activities to drive innovation and product differentiation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE,

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in controls development, preferably in the field of hot water systems or HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning).
  • Strong knowledge of control system principles, algorithms, and programming languages such as PLC ladder logic, C/C++, or MATLAB.
  • Familiarity with industrial automation systems, communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, BACnet), and HMI/SCADA software.
  • Experience with control system design tools, simulation software, and CAD tools.
  • Excellent problem solver.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborative effectively within a team.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
